Erasmus Student Network continues to expand, creating new opportunities for youth across Europe and beyond. In big and even small countries like Georgia, what started as a small initiative has grown into a vibrant, impactful network that continues to grow year after year. And this year marks a special milestone for ESN Georgia: 15 years of empowering international students and youth and creating meaningful experiences.

Since 2011 till Now

Over the past decade and a half, ESN in Georgia has welcomed and supported hundreds of exchange students worldwide. As Erasmus+ mobility continues to grow in Georgia, organisations like ESN play a crucial role in complementing academic exchange with social integration. They help to overcome cultural differences and encourage students to engage not only in their studies but also with local communities. Through a strong sense of community, dedication, and passion which never withered away over the years, this small country became a home to others.

Knowing that someone cares about you in a strange new country is a huge support. ESN volunteers in my host city were my family. Ever since they received me at 5 am at the train station, I have never felt away from home.
- Beka Beriashvili, former ESN Tbilisi President and ESN Georgia National Representative

Each smile and small family we created year after year taught us that every small step in ESN matters. From organising small activities when your section is still new to the world, to planning inclusive events for international students.

Milestones That Define Us

Throughout these 15 years, with the help of ESN, Georgia has achieved remarkable milestones that celebrate each member's love and dedication to Erasmus values. Over the years, we:

  • hosted activities annually, ranging from cultural exchanges to social gatherings and educational workshops;
  • organised social impact initiatives, connecting international students with local people and communities;
  • hosted the SEEP (South Eastern European Platform) in 2022, bringing together ESNers from across the region!
  • built strong local partnerships that create more opportunities for exchange students;
  • expanded the ESN and Erasmus+ network in Georgian society.

These achievements are more than numbers. Beyond unforgettable memories and the growth of the ESN community, ESN has also been a place of personal and professional development.

Being part of ESN helped me grow in many ways. I developed strong soft skills, but it also supported my career path. Demonstrating my community involvement strengthened my applications

Working with young people from various nations is an invaluable life experience that ESN gave me. All of this was packed into a few years that could otherwise take ages.

ESN is a life-changing journey

Erasmus Student Network connects thousands of volunteers and students all around the world. This connection ensures that, no matter the country, the values of cultural exchange, solidarity, and inclusion remain the goal of the Erasmus+ experience.

I felt that I was part of a huge family. I never felt away anywhere in Europe. I had awesome people everywhere
- Beka Beriashvili

Whether we are counting one or fifteen years of existence, what matters is that we are celebrating it all together, regardless of the distance. We all grow together through shared goals, teamwork and friendship.

Here’s to the next chapter! More connections and greater impact are to come.
